Navigating a neurotypical world can be extremely difficult. Learning to understand your sensory experience of the world around you, the people you encounter and the people that encounter you can be beneficial and helpful in moving forward.
Whether you have a historic diagnosis; a recent diagnosis or want to identify/explore being neurodiverse without diagnosis, my aim is to help you, or those that support you understand what makes you, YOU. For parents, I can also help you explore ways how best to support someone in your family who is neurodiverse, providing psychoeducational therapy to help support you and those that you care for, navigate school and home.
One of the biggest causes of stress, panic, anxiety, depression and school based anxiety/work based anxiety within the neurodiverse community, is sensory overload. Much of my work is based around exploring how you respond to the world around you from a sensory perspective. When we are experiencing overload (and I include myself in this), our mind and body feels out of sync. We cannot concentrate, make decisions, regulate our emotional responses and struggle with a sensation that is felt in various part of our body. Learning ways to predict, manage these experiences is hugely important in surviving the neurotypical world. There are ways to do this and I believe I can help you find ways to navigate the world in a way that suits you better. Without masking.
